That can mean slowing the situation down, stalling demands, changing what the blackmailer believes, protecting your identity and limiting what they can reach.
Every situation is different.
But panic is rarely useful.
The blackmailer wants urgency.
You want time.
Time gives you room to think.
Time gives you room to protect yourself.
Time can reduce the pressure they are trying to create.
