Frank Hides People | Privacy Protection

When people ask what I do for a living, sometimes I say, “Frank hides people.”

Now, don’t misconstrue that as a bad thing, like I protect criminals or something. No. I believe we live in a time where a pervasive enemy, a great enemy, is invisible and never-ending, pursuing what makes us human.

Sounds deep, but in reality, they are stealing our shit.

Our information. Our habits. Our interests. Where we go, what we search, what we buy, what we click, and what keeps us staring at a screen.

My Clients Want to Hide From People and Information

My clients want to hide from people and information. They want to disappear, create their own world, and not have that unwanted knock on the door.

They also do not want an algorithm manipulating their humanness so they become a better consumer, scroller, swiper, citizen, or slave.

That is privacy to me.

It is not only about whether someone knows your home address. It is about how much of yourself you are handing over every day without even thinking about it.

What Does Privacy Look Like Today?

How is it done? What is the privacy and disappearance strategy of today and tomorrow?

To a degree, that has yet to be seen.

But I do believe part of the answer is not taking part. Dropping out of as much of the digital world as you can. Not giving a fuck about influencers, political slop, or believing politicians and big business always have your interests first.

They do not.

There is too much money in clicks, scrolling, attention, and knowing what people will do next.

The more you participate, the more information you give away.

You Also Need to Hide From Yourself

Yes, Frank hides people, but sometimes you need to hide yourself from you.

Your patterns are dangerous.

The machine is training people to rat themselves out through their own usage history, clicks, searches, scrolls, swipes, purchases, and habits.

People think privacy means deleting an account or buying another phone. That is only part of it.

If you keep doing the same things, talking to the same people, visiting the same places, and creating the same patterns, you are still leaving a trail.

You can disappear geographically and still be completely visible.

Frank Hides People

Frank hides people and protects them from predators.

Sometimes the predator is another person. Sometimes it is a company that wants your information. Sometimes it is a system that wants to know where you are, what you do, and what you might do next.

And sometimes the problem is you.

If you are planning a disappearance, looking for extreme privacy, or simply want to become harder to find, I can help.

About Frank M. Ahearn

I am Frank M. Ahearn, a privacy expert, former skip tracer, and author. I started my career in 1984 finding people and information. Eventually, I went to the other side.

Instead of finding people, I began helping them disappear, protect their privacy, and become harder to find.

I am the New York Times bestselling author of How to Disappear. My work has always been about people and information. First, I learned how information finds people. Now I use that knowledge to help people create distance from the information that follows them.
