Are you available?
Where are you located?
What is your rate?
The person answering may not be an escort.
The advertisement may have been created by a scammer waiting for someone to make contact.
Your message gives them a telephone number.
That number may lead to your name.
Your name may lead to Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.
Social media may reveal your spouse, family, employer, coworkers and business connections.

Two Types of Escort Blackmail
Escort blackmail usually falls into two different categories.
The Fake Escort or Cartel Scam
You never meet the escort.

They may claim to be a manager, gang member or cartel representative.
The messages can include violent photographs, your address or the names of relatives.
The violence is usually manufactured to make you pay quickly.

The second type involves someone you met or communicated with over time.
They may know your real name.
They may know where you work.
They may have photographs, messages, hotel details or payment records.
They may know that you are married.
This threat is different because the person possesses real information and may have direct knowledge of your life.

Why Escort Blackmail Creates Immediate Panic
The victim does not only see a demand for money.
He sees his wife receiving screenshots.
His children learning about the escort contact.
His employer being sent private messages.
His name being posted online.
His entire private life becoming public.
That fear causes fast decisions.
Victims pay before confirming what the blackmailer actually knows.
They reveal the name of the person they are desperate to protect.

Do Not Pay Without a Strategy

It can do the opposite.
When the blackmailer loses access to you, they may search for another route.
Your spouse.
Your employer.
A family member.
A second social media account.
The blackmailer wants a reaction. Cutting communication without a plan can make them increase the pressure to get one.
Do not disappear from the conversation until you understand the threat.
