Blackmail scams do not arrive politely. It smashes into your life. One private photo, one reckless message, one connection on the wrong app—and suddenly, someone is demanding money.

There are many shapes this predator takes. Facebook blackmail. Sniffies and Grindr extortion. The fake cartel scam. Even escorts on Ashley Madison are nothing more than predators in disguise. Each one operates differently, but they all share the same weapon: fear.
Most sextortion and blackmail cases are combated by stalling the payment. That may sound simple, but it is not. Stalling is not about buying yourself peace—it is about creating control. The fight is difficult, but it is your only option.
Do not block. Do not ignore. These are mistakes most victims make. Cutting communication rarely makes the threat disappear—it can provoke escalation. A blackmailer who feels ignored can turn ruthless, moving from threats to exposure. You cannot afford to give them that opportunity.
This is where I come in. I am Frank M. Ahearn—the blackmail fixer. I do not give pep talks, and I do not hand you empty advice. I take over. I become you in the conversation with the predator, controlling the threat until they disappear. My job is to prevent exposure. Period.
For those who cannot hire me directly, my book The Self-Help Guide for Stopping Blackmail is the manual. It lays out the same tactics I use: how to stall, how to manage communication, and how to make sure the blackmailer never gets the upper hand. It is not theory—it is fieldwork from the front lines.
And if you are just stepping into the world of online dating or socializing, prevention must come first. My book The Romance Detective teaches you how to identify fake dating apps, spot red flags, and avoid the predators waiting for you on the other side of a swipe. Romance scams are often the seed that grows into blackmail. Knowing how to detect them keeps you out of the trap entirely.
Blackmail thrives on silence and shame. Your defense begins with action. Stall the demands. Don’t block. Don’t panic. Hire the fixer—or arm yourself with the books that show you how to fight back.
