Today, I use those same skills when someone wants to know who is really behind an online relationship.
I look at the name, photographs, phone numbers, email addresses, social media, locations, employment, businesses and the story you’ve been told.
Then I look for what connects and what doesn’t.
I don’t care how convincing the story sounds.
I want to know if the person exists.
Fake Dating Profiles Leave Clues
A photograph can belong to someone else. A name can be invented. A career can be fabricated. A location can be false. A social media profile can be built to support the story.
The objective is to get beyond the profile and determine whether the person you’re talking to is actually the person they claim to be.
Sometimes they are.
Sometimes they aren’t.
